Well,
let’s start from the beginning so that none of the beginners are left behind.
To start with, it’s pronounced ‘MUN’, not ‘MOON’. So let’s get that right from
the beginning. United Nations in a real scenario consists of group of 198
countries from which delegation from each country act as representatives in
order to solve a common lingering problem that has been affecting more than one
country in the world. Be it global climate change to Somalia pirates attacking
petroleum vessels, every single matter concerning the world is debated and
concluded upon with a collective action.
Now,
how similar is Model United Nations from the real kickass United Nations that
takes place. The young and aspiring minds of today’s world indulge in this very
habit in an early age in life so
that when they grow up, they can take
control over the world and help it from destruction. Don’t take it in a literal
sense, but yes, Model United Nations not only gives a platform for students to
showcase their talent and interest in current affairs but also helps in
developing your public speaking skills and gets rid of stage
fright.
You are interested about politics, current affairs, debating, public speaking,
extempore or even want to develop your skills in these, MUN is the platform. The
list can keep on going.
The
agenda for all the MUN’s are generally related to current crisis world is
facing and every resolution that is passed at the end of the conference is
passed onto UN for suggestions and recommendations. Yes friends, your views are
read by the greatest politicians and diplomats of the world. The conference
goes on for 3 days, each delegate representing a particular country in the
world and trying to resolve the crisis in hand in favour of their country and
not letting others countries take advantage of any single tiny thing. That’s
how serious it gets. And by luck at the end of the day, if all the countries
agree upon a single resolution, the draft is passed by the Chair of the council
and voted upon.
Well,
all these things does make MUN very interesting, but none of us just want to
keep on talking 3 days straight on. That’s where MUN’s keep a secret surprise.
SOCIALS, dance, songs, games, food, drinks. ahem ahem. Every single thing you
can think of for enjoying, MUN provides you that, conditions applied.
If
